DC Commission for Long Term Health
Toya Carmichael, Esq. is a grant writer with a true passion for service
organizations. Toya is a Past Chair of the Washington Bar Association Young
Lawyers Division. Currently, Toya fulfills her civic duties as a Commissioner for
The DC Commission for Long Term Health, a Board Member for the DC
Federation of Citizens Associations, and Committee Chair for the Hillcrest Civic
Association.  Toya is a board member for Thrive DC and Vice President of the
Toni P. Farmer Scholarship Committee at Allen Chapel AME Church. A lover of
the arts, Toya also serves as an Ambassador for the Smithsonian Museum of
African American History and Culture and a Member and volunteer at the John F.
Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. A mother of a 15-year-old boy, Toya
began dedicating her time and talents as a persuasive writer to ensure
organizations committed to improving the lives of children and families have the
monetary resources necessary to deliver quality programs. She has secured
grants ranging from $2,500 to $45,000 for her clients and guided several other
organizations through the non-profit formation process.
